Sounds like what happened with my 2nd ZX4RR - my dealer didn't get my 40th Anniversary Edition 4RR for almost 2 months after they were released.
AFAIK, I'm first in line for the R9, but it is at the same dealer. š
That's good to hear! I'll have to reach out to the other dealers here tomorrow. Everyone is closed on Mondays here.I told my dealer that I had checked with another dealer and additional hour away from home that is scheduled to get the Redline earlier than my dealer.
He said he'd discount mine when it comes in (even though it will be a hot seller) for having to wait, and for being a repeat customer.
Hey @RotorHead7 welcome to the forum. Fingers crossed that your bike arrives on schedule and isn't delayed.I pre-ordered mine on announcement day. I ordered the first blue model. My rep (who is also the sales manager) says mine is still scheduled for March delivery. He did say that their entire first order wont be complete until Q3
At least Yamaha are being consistent in other parts of the world. Often Europe gets the bikes way before we get it in the US. The biggest exception that I know of was the Kawasaki ZX4RR, as Europe got theirs a year after we did.I preordered the blue version from the austrian GYTR dealer in europe. When I ordered they said they get 30 bikes from the first shipment and they should arrive in beginning of march.
I talked to them a week a go and Yamaha seems to have supply chain issues. The mass production is planned to start in march and the delivery is planned to be around April/May/June for the first shipment.
Yeah Yamaha seems to be pretty consistent with that side of things. At least Yamaha are being consistent in other parts of the world. Often Europe gets the bikes way before we get it in the US. The biggest exception that I know of was the Kawasaki ZX4RR, as Europe got theirs a year after we did.
Except that theirs wasn't neutered like the US/Canada version.![]()
Welcome to the forum @JP_! Thanks for that update from your dealer. Are you currently riding any bikes while you wait for your R9?I preordered the blue version from the austrian GYTR dealer in europe. When I ordered they said they get 30 bikes from the first shipment and they should arrive in beginning of march.

RJ03 right now mainly as a track bike until the R9 is going to be deliveredWelcome to the forum @JP_! Thanks for that update from your dealer. Are you currently riding any bikes while you wait for your R9?
I dont think this had to do with production delays. Homolagation is just a much longer process in that serieshttps://www.rideapart.com/features/752070/yamaha-r9-worldssp-debut-pending-motoamerica/
Since the R9 release is delayed, it cannot be homologated for Moto America yet, so don't expect to see them at Daytona, according to the article.
Any news regarding that delivery?I pre-ordered mine on announcement day. I ordered the first blue model. My rep (who is also the sales manager) says mine is still scheduled for March delivery. He did say that their entire first order wont be complete until Q3
But I have nothing to ride...I just dropped some more money down on my R9 (Black). I was the first pre-order at this location on October 25th and they originally told me January. I told them that everything I've seen and heard said March. They even showed me on the inventory list online the Black one in January and then they got the delay letter and gave me that. They still have not heard anything, so it's just a waiting game now. Ride safe everyone!
