I told my dealer that I had checked with another dealer and additional hour away from home that is scheduled to get the Redline earlier than my dealer.
He said he'd discount mine when it comes in (even though it will be a hot seller) for having to wait, and for being a repeat customer.
That's good to hear! I'll have to reach out to the other dealers here tomorrow. Everyone is closed on Mondays here.

I pre-ordered mine on announcement day. I ordered the first blue model. My rep (who is also the sales manager) says mine is still scheduled for March delivery. He did say that their entire first order wont be complete until Q3
Hey @RotorHead7 welcome to the forum. Fingers crossed that your bike arrives on schedule and isn't delayed.

I preordered the blue version from the austrian GYTR dealer in europe. When I ordered they said they get 30 bikes from the first shipment and they should arrive in beginning of march.
I talked to them a week a go and Yamaha seems to have supply chain issues. The mass production is planned to start in march and the delivery is planned to be around April/May/June for the first shipment.

At least Yamaha are being consistent in other parts of the world. Often Europe gets the bikes way before we get it in the US. The biggest exception that I know of was the Kawasaki ZX4RR, as Europe got theirs a year after we did.

Except that theirs wasn't neutered like the US/Canada version. :cautious:

Yeah Yamaha seems to be pretty consistent with that side of things.

Welcome to the forum @JP_! Thanks for that update from your dealer. Are you currently riding any bikes while you wait for your R9?

So I just got an update yesterday from my dealership in Kansas city, MO. He said they pushed up some bikes for march, but they are only the Blue/black way. The redline is still looking like may. He still said if another dealership get a redline when he gets any other color. They will try and do a trade for the two. Since I was the first one to put a deposit down. Also guy make sure your dealer put down that the bike is already sold if u put a deposit down. To see if the bike will come faster because my dealership didnt and now they cant. So I am wondering if that is why my redline is getting pushed back so far.

It really doesn't seem to matter if it's sold, or what color it is. I had hopes that Yamaha was going to be on the ball in that regard, but it doesn’t look like it
I was first at my dealer, and the Redline is scheduled to be the last color they get, in Q3.

I just dropped some more money down on my R9 (Black). I was the first pre-order at this location on October 25th and they originally told me January. I told them that everything I've seen and heard said March. They even showed me on the inventory list online the Black one in January and then they got the delay letter and gave me that. They still have not heard anything, so it's just a waiting game now. Ride safe everyone!

Similar to what Casey Stoner said to Valentino Rossi - instead of "Obviously your ambition outweighed your talent", it's more like he would tell Yamaha "obviously your ambition outweighed your supplier's capabilities." :(

So i finally ask my dealer yesterday, How far did my redline get pushed back or shipment. He said only July, but i wouldn't put it past them for it being later. He also said that when he ordered his 250 dirt bike Yamaha had the same issues of delay shipments. He also said my redline was going to be one of couple that was in the first couple shipments. So that is happy to hear because people keep talking about the redlines being the last to be shipped out. So it just a waiting game until i get the call. Will probably not ask them for any updates until July but also my dealership has a bike meet every month. So i may ask sooner then that, if they have any updates.
